Twice it happened to which one of the pair turn out missing. My niece has a pair of toads and a month later one came out missing. Her tank is sealed so she looked inside the filter but nothing and she cleaned out her tank, still nothing. Looked around the area where her tank was sitting..looked all over her bedroom and no signs of the toad. Three weeks ago she bought another one to keep the other one company.A week later its missing again...She figured she's only meant to have one but both missing toads remains a mystery. Would they eat their own kind? And no I doubt they turn into a prince.

This happened to my Fiance. He has a pair and I went to feed them and clean them out, there was no way one could have escaped. I told him that it was missing and the only way was that the other one ate him ~~ even til this day he doubts me but a lot of people have said this is probably the case. Looks like he wants to live on his own!! Good luck!!
i would think they have a imune system in there own body for there own poison
