Ball python...?

I read this on someone elses page
Is this true?
Just so you know ball pythons dont make good pets at all.
about 90% of the time they stop eating and die .
Answers:
lol no that ant true
Some of the wild-caught do stop feeding and a small % of captive bred may but a good breeder will not sell these animals until they are feeding. So yes Royals (ball) Pythons are a good starter snake as long as you go for captive bred specimens.
My website
that's soo not true. If you take good care of them, they make great pets
This is false. While it is true that they can be hard feeders, for the most part they are very easy snakes. It's always better to get a captive born snake, of any breed, compared to a wild caught, as more problems come from that. Know who you get it from, and where they got it from, and make sure it's an established feeder, and you will be fine.
the problem is that about 90 percent of the people that buy them do it to be cool and dont take care of them. yes alot die but only because of poor care. if people took care of kids the same way they would be arrested. 50 percent of all constictors are bought on a whim because people like to watch them eat that ends pretty soon. if cared for they will outlive their owners.
That's is not true . I have raised Ball Pythons among many other snakes for over 20 years . BP's are one of the most docile and easiest snakes to own . If you have the proper temps , humidity level and hides you will not have any problems . The people that have their snake die is because they either get sick snakes to begin with or do not know how to take proper care of them in which case they should not own any kind of snakes at all .
My Ball pythons are hardy eaters . I have never had a hard time geting one to eat .
Keep in mind that Ball Pythons are generally equipped for a long fast.
So while it may be nerve wracking for you, they will be fine. You'll know long before it's time to intervene.
For the record I'm not into that aspect of them at all. But I would say that's an unfair generalization.
