Wheres the cheapest pace to buy a Baby or adult ball python in florida?
Answers:
Try a toy store. Seriously, I get tired of people looking to find the cheapest place to buy a snake. You can purchase a nice, captive bred one from a breeder for probably $30 to $50. If you can't afford that, what makes you think you can afford the cage, heat, thermostat, thermometer, food, and vet bills that go along with keeping a snake? The cost of the snake is a small percentage of the overall cost of keeping a snake. If you can't afford $50, then get a job or save your money until you can keep a pet responsibly.
The same can be said for keeping ANY pet!
BTW, if you do end up finding a really great deal on a Ball Python, the chances are that it is an African import and will most likely have parasites or other issues. You will probably end up paying much more in order to get that snake healthy than if you just went out and purchased a healty one to begin with.
Well, I'm glad you asked.
This weekend (from August 17-19) is the National Reptile Breeder's Expo in Daytona. I don't know where exactly you're located, but this is the nation's largest reptile (breeders) convention, and there are so many breeders to choose from, you're sure to find a bargain somewhere in the convention hall. If you want directions and a little bit more information (trust me, there isn't much on their site), you can go to www.reptilebreedersexpo.com
If you can't make the drive to Daytona this weekend, you can find local breeders through www.kingsnake.com.
If you're located in or near Casselberry (just north of Orlando), there's a store called Pet Bazaar that's trying to get rid of their "old shipment" ball pythons for $29.99. By saying they're "old shipment," I don't mean they're adult ball pythons. They're young and very well handled, but they have just been in the store so long, the store needs to make room for more. Their number is (407)260-0552.
You can probably find the cheapest ball pythons at those sites/locations, but if you can't do those, you can try your local PetCo which is having a sale on ball pythons until August 31. The sale price is $59.99, down from the original $79.99.
I hope that helps.
Good luck. :)
depending on what morph you are looking for try this website..
http://market.kingsnake.com/index.php?ca...
remember.. the fancier the morph the fancier the price
look at pet stores you can find cheap ones online but shipping and handling can cost more than the snake itself
Some suggestions - reptile shows and pet shops are cheep but be sure and look the snake over carefully . Look at the girth of the snake , under the snake at the scale and vent . They should be smooth and cream colored , never dark brown . The vent should be closed .The eyes and nose clear , no drainage's . Check around the mouth , nose and eyes to make sure there are no small mites crawling around . Also inspect the cage carefully .Ask if it is wild caught or captive breed . Only buy captive breed .Now hold the snake up close to your ear and listen . You should not be able to hear the snake breathing . If you do , do not buy it ,it has a respiratory infection . Ask what and how often it is eating .Have a cage completely set up with the proper temps ,digital thermometers, humidity level , and two identical hides before you buy your snake .Remember if its cheep and ill, its not a bargain .
Heres a good web site http://www.repticzone.com
