Can an Equadorian Hermit Crab live without Salt Water?

Or can it be weaned off of the water?
Answers:
No hermit crab can live withought salt water, not even a PP. They need the salts for when they are molting. Withought salt water your hermit crabs will die.
No Equadorian's require salt water as do all species of land hermit crabs. They use the salt in the marine salt water to expand their body and crack their exoskeleton when they molt. They also need the salt water for the salinity of their shell water.
