Anyone own a Red Eared Slider turtle?

Is so how do you keep it's habitat? What lighting do you have for it? If you have pictures that would be great thanks!

I have a (male?) RES. It is maybe 2-3 inches. He lives in an aquarium. We have the bottom lined with rocks, big enough so he won't eat them. In 2 corners of the aquarium we put anacharis for him to much on. Anacharis (AN-ACK-AR-IS) Is a healthy food for turtles and fish. Our turtle is too young to eat fish yet, so we have a few fish in the tank. We have golfish, guppies, and a pleco. We feed the turtle 2 varieties of turtle food/pellets. He also sometimes eats lettuce. He has a heater and a turtle dock. A filter is also requiered, as so is a basking light to help them shed their skin. Well, thats it for now!
Bye and Good luck!
I have a female RES. I have a 55 gallon tank with a floating dock (which also sticks to the side). Over the dock I have a UVB tube light. I have pictures, just let me know.

well i used to have one and he lasted for like 5 years...i kept him outside - even in the ice cold weather...i dont know how he did it but he lived through everything! i kept him in one of those plastic kiddie pools but mine was a micky mouse pool. and i put rocks in the middle and would go pick really tall grass that still had the roots on it and stuck it in between the rocks...he would eat the roots. get a UVB bulb and make sure u keep the enclosure clean all the time. also, if u have city water, get some water conditioner from the pet shop because city water contains chlorine and that can be dangerous to any animal. and depending on how big he is, feed him fish...guppies if hes small and feeder comets if hes big enough for them. also, dont hesitate to feed him lettuce and worms/shrimp every now and then. good luck!
