Are the worms they sell at bait stores ok for a bearded dragon?

Answers:
Yes they are fine to feed a Beardie. You also can feed him earth worms if you have a yard. After a rain worms tend to come above ground and you can collect several. Also I used to go out at night and catch night crawlers and use those for food for my beardie. My beardie also liked Grubs. He would eat crickets and small grasshoppers to.
yes i think they are... but i would call the pet store first and ask!

good luck!
No usually they do not have the same ammout of nutrients as the ones outside: they do not breed them for animal food but fish bait, and the fish don't care if they have nutrients or not so they don't have as much. So my advice would be to stick to ones you dig up outside or just crickets dusted with vitamin powder, wich is the best choice overall. Note: crickets sold online are way cheaper than those sold at pet stores. There are many websites that sell them, such as http://www.livecrickets.com/
The worms are fine as long as they are something a beardie will eat. As for the concern about nutritional value. Well how many pet stores have you been in where they feed thier crickets a high quality gut loading food daily? If you are worried about nutritional value gut load them yourself before you feed which you should be doing with any reptile specific food source you buy anyway. So there see no problems. Good luck
It is never recommended to feed wild caught insects to reptiles. They carry parasites and may have been exposed to pesticides and fertilizers. Order insects on-line (ie: reptilefood.com or premiumcricket.com, etc) or buy from a pet store. Then properly feed and provide moisture for the insects to gutload them before using as a food for the reptile. FYI, 1 lightning bug will kill a bearded dragon!!!
